About This Retreat

The Oaxaca retreat is the heart of the 2026 Mexico tour — three days and two nights of immersive Kriya Yoga practice in one of the most spiritually resonant landscapes in the Americas. Oaxaca's ancient mountains, deep silence, and indigenous mystical tradition create the ideal container for the kind of inner work that genuinely changes lives.

Each day is shaped around Satsang with Don Baba, guided Kriya Yoga meditation sessions, and the practice of noble silence between formal gatherings. Seekers who have attended previous Kriya Yoga Wisdom's retreats consistently describe it as a turning point — not because of what happened during the program, but because of who they were when they left.

The retreat is appropriate for both established Kriya practitioners and sincere seekers who are new to Kriya Yoga meditation.

Daily Satsang

Formal gatherings with Don Baba

Each day centers on Satsang — teaching, Q&A, and collective practice. These are the heart of the retreat, the place where the oral tradition comes alive.

Guided Kriya Meditation and Instruction

Morning and evening sessions

Formal Kriya Yoga instruction and practice led and held by Don Baba's presence. Both established practitioners and sincere beginners are welcome.

Noble Silence

Between formal gatherings

Silence is not emptiness — it is the condition in which the soul begins to hear itself. An invitation to let the teachings settle into the body rather than the mind.

The Venue

The retreat is hosted at Casa del Encuentro-Oaxaca — a dedicated spiritual retreat center in the tranquil village of Santa María Atzompa, just outside Oaxaca City, on the grounds of Ex Hacienda La Soledad.

Simple meals, beautiful grounds, and complete separation from the distractions of daily life.

Arrival is on the morning of Friday, November 27.

The retreat formally closes on the evening of Sunday, November 29.

It is possible to arrive on Thursday, November 26, and/or stay, until Monday, November 30th, for additional fee for meals and lodging onsite at the retreat location. Payment must be made in full in advance to reserve these rooms and meals..

Upon registration completion, you will receive by email, a "Google Form" to submit your details, of arrival and departure times and dates.

The following meals are included in the full retreat fee:

Friday and Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Sunday breakfast, and lunch.

All meals served during the retreat will be vegetarian.

Please let us know if you have any allergies, or dietary restrictions, and we will see if we can accommodate them.

All the rooms are shared doubles, (2 beds) rooms.

*Note * There is one three person room available, (3 beds).

Please let us know if you have a specific request to share your room with a specific Kriyaban, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

The rooms are first come, first served.

*Please Note* The retreat center is home to dogs, cats, birds, insects and other creatures native to the local ecosystem.

If you are traveling to Oaxaca, by Plane or Bus, please provide your Arrival and Departure information, and we can provide you with information, about securing transportation to and from the Retreat Location. We will try our best to help coordinate traveling as a group to and from the retreat location.

Yogacharya Donald "Don Baba" Abrams

Authorized Yogacharya · Hariharananda Lineage · Since 1996

Yogacharya Donald "Don Baba" Abrams is a direct disciple of Paramahamsa Hariharananda (1907–2002) and is authorized as a Yogacharya by him, in 1996, to conduct First and Second Kriya initiations, in his name, with his love and blessings.

Rajarshi Raghabananda, empowered Don Baba to transmit all six groups of Kriya techniques, as well as authorized

Don Baba to empower new Kriya meditation guides and Yogacharya's within the Hariharananda lineage.

He brings 45 years of personal practice and 39 years of teaching into every gathering.

His teaching philosophy honors both the depth of the tradition and the realities of modern life.

No monastic path is required.

Kriya Yoga, as Don Baba teaches it, is a practice for householders — for anyone willing to go inside with love.
